New Polini Evolution 3 exhaust for LC Minarelli horizontal engines

Polini Motori have a new addition to add to their exhausts range with a new EVOLUTION 3 exhaust system developed to achieve max power from liquid cooled Minarelli horizontal engines.

This exhaust has been specifically designed for use with 70cc Evolution cylinders. The features are as follows:

• Completely hand made.
• Exhaust manifold flange with three holes to couple perfectly with the new cylinder and avoid possible gas escaping and power loss.
• The manifold has been connected with a turned pipe to achieve the Venturi effect and improve the quantity of the gas scavenging consequently producing a power increase up to 14,000 rpm.
• The visual look and the exhaust's dimensions have been studied to give the maximum yield when used with the TORSEN WD.
• The silencer curve can be disassembled; it's possible to insert nozzles of different diameters to increase engine revs.
• The silencer, made of black anodised aluminum is slightly longer to contain noise and varies in the internal diameter which is larger to improve acceleration.
• The base is detachable to change the deadening material.

All these features improve the general engine performance; both in acceleration and in speed, for a fun ride at the circuits.

Polini Evolution 3 Ceramic Speed Drive

100% made in Italy: The new Polini Evolution 3 'Ceramic Speed Drive' for 50cc scooters equipped with Piaggio and Minarelli engines.

Made of light aluminum alloy Polini's Ceramic Speed Drive is machined direct from the block and weighs 500 gr lighter than the steel pulleys. It's subjected to a special ceramization treatment, this is an innovative and exclusive feature that brings great advantages: Besides more power transmission, working temperatures decrease and as a consequence belt grip is improved. Race tested by Polini, performance has been found to be very high thanks to the speed drive's stability and efficiency thus avoiding any loss of power during a race. During race testing the speed increase is immediately noticeable thanks to the grip improvement with faster acceleration when exiting corners.

Polini 9 Roller Evolution 3 Hi-Speed Variator Kit

This is the latest version of the extraordinary nine roller variator kit from Polini. The main improvement is a lubrication system that features a case hardened nickel bush pin with a large internal pocket that contains a special grease. The addition of a spring inside the internal pocket allows the grease to distribute evenly on the pin even under extreme racing conditions. There are other changes too like the new nylon and aramidic fibre coated rollers to further help roller sliding. All in all, this kit will not only improve transmission effectiveness, it will enable lower service intervals too.

The need for speed: Project Zip at Elvington

We feel the need, the need for speed! On Sunday 18 April we went to Elvington to take the Zips for some quarter mile testing before the next round of the BSSO series. The day went well with Pedstop riders Josh Brown and Sam Edwards getting some fast times up the drag strip. Josh's machine is now equipped with the very latest Polini Evolution 3 engine. As you can imagine we couldn't wait to find out how the new setup would perform. After a 15.34 second quarter mile run terminating at 79mph we feel even more confident now that Josh has the straight line speed he needs when he returns to the circuit next month. The results of young gun Sam's full throttle action yielded times in the 16 second bracket with a 16.04 being his best time of the day - quicker than some of the riders of 172 and 180cc machines! Well done Sam.

Project Zip - Elvington

As planned, we went to Elvington on Sunday 18 October for another sprinting session. Our rider, Josh Brown set off well on the Zip but a cold seize in the last 100 yards resulted in a 15.8 second run and a gentle roll over the line at 60mph. Things can only get better.
