Athena Racing 50cc Cylinder Kit with Power Valve for Derbi D50B0 Engines

The latest part to come out of the R&D department over at Athena is this Racing 50cc cylinder kit which features the same power valve system currently used on their AM6 70cc kits. Suitable for all Derbi D50B0 engines this Racing 50cc barrel carries the usual Athena traits with having a perfectly finished aluminium Nicasil plated barrel and a surface treated piston guaranteed to give excellent performance in all conditions.

The power valve is controlled by exhaust gas pressure and is supplied with different strength springs allowing you to control when the power valve opens. This allows for a good setup on many exhaust systems giving great power right through the rev range thanks to the varying exhaust port duration. So you get all the benefits of this high end racing cylinder at a high RPM whilst improving power at low RPM's too. This gives a smooth flowing ride allowing faster lap times thanks to the added power and torque at low - mid RPM. CPI SM SX 80cc Big Bore Cylinder Kit from Airsal

Finally a kit designed specifically for the CPI SM –SX 50cc geared engine (AM6 clone), the Airsal Tech 80cc high end cylinder. Many companies have listed AM6 cylinder kits to fit this bike for a long time however they are not a true fit and always required some kind of modification like changing the exhaust etc. This kit is 100% designed and developed for the CPI engine making fitment a breeze on the original or any after market exhaust systems.

It offers big performance gains thanks to the capacity increase to 80cc and completely revised port layout. Supplied complete with everything needed to fit however you will need to increase the main jet size in your carburettor and change the spark plug to a NGK BR8ES.

Doppler Vortex 50cc Moped Cylinder Kits

The long awaited Doppler Vortex kits have finally arrived however only for Minarelli AM6 and Derbi D50B0 engines at the moment. It’s clear to see what all the hype was about once you have one in your hand. First of all the water jacket is huge covering more than the entire piston stroke which allows for a pretty aggressive port layout. The general quality of the cylinder head and barrel is second to none and a Vertex piston is used to complete it. With extreme cooling properties Doppler say this kit is designed for road use with low service intervals and we believe them!

Polini PWK 30mm Flat Slide Scooter / Moped Racing Carburettor –

Due to strict racing regulations in Europe many of the top tuning brands have only ever really offered smaller carburettors to suit their needs. With the Italian Polini 94cc open cup getting more and more popular Polini’s race technicians have developed a range of PWK flat slide carbs designed with HP in mind. This 30mm is the largest version which Polini have modified to make it a little easier to set up and increase performance. The intake duct is machined by Polini technicians while the float bowl size is the result of many hours testing to suit most scooter and mopeds needs. Universally fitting on many 2T and 4T scooter & moped engines.

2011 Polini Evolution 70cc/94cc 2T Piaggio/Minarelli LC engines

If you've got the need for speed and desire an out and out race spec engine then how about this - a complete race engine built by the Polini factory...

Each engine has its own unique number and is built to Polini's exacting standards and every engine is dyno tested before being signed off by Polini's technicians. Two formats are available: 2T Piaggio liquid cooled (e.g. Piaggio Zip 50 SP 1996-99 / 50 SP 2001 onwards) or 2T Minarelli horizontal liquid cooled (e.g. Yamaha Aerox 50 / MBK Nitro 50 / Yamaha Jog RR) with a choice of 70cc or 94cc.

New Polini Speed Clutch with fixed settings

Polini's new fixed Speed Clutch is now in stock and incorporates some great features at a great price.

Two new clutches have actually been introduced; one for stock or tuned engines with fixed settings and another that allows adjustments for tuned and race engines. The two fixed clutches which cover the popular Piaggio and Minarelli engines can be found via the following product codes: AD/249.046 and AD/249.048. Both have a fixed setting and are supplied with an additional spring set which allows for individual changes to suit the scooter they're being used on.

Fitting is easy due to it being a direct exchange with the stock part. This upgrade offers improved acceleration with a stronger resistance to vibration throughout the full speed range.

At only £40.85 the new Polini Speed Clutch is easily the winner when being compared to the Malossi Fly Clutch.

Big Evolution kit from Polini: 94cc for Piaggio and Minarelli LC

EXCLUSIVE! News just in from the Polini camp - 94cc is now in production and will be arriving with us on our next delivery.

To be honest we were hoping for an 80cc for next year's BSSO but Polini have gone one step further - 94cc! We are still in shock. Kits will be available for both Minarelli and Piaggio liquid cooled engines, power capabilities have still not been quoted but we are sure we'll find out at the show next week.

From the pictures we have available the cylinder looks like something you would find on YZ 80 motorcross rather than a scoot. Exhaust port looks similar to the Evo 3 kits and is sporting three exhaust studs, we think either a new stub for Evo 10 or a revised exhaust will be popping up shortly.

A long stroke crankshaft is to be used alongside the 52mm bore giving the 94cc which as you would expect will need some work in the crank casings to accept it. As we learn more we will let you know. A 94cc sprinter coming soon we think...
