Polini Hi-Speed Evolution Variator Kits

Polini are well known as the market leaders when it comes to transmission components and their latest Evolution Hi-Speed kits are sure to set almost unbeatable targets for the nearest, but distant competition. The benefit of 9 rollers has proved a success on and off the race track over the last few years and now Polini have added some exciting improvements.
Under hard use variators generally increase in temperature which can make rpm drop off due to belt travel being delayed, because of this transmission becomes less efficient. Thanks to a new patented lubrication system from Polini the cannon bush is constantly greased which not only lowers temperatures but allows for perfect variation all of the time under extreme use. The rollers have also been treated to a new coating made form a mix of nylon and aramid fibres to further reduce temperature and roller life.

NEW Polini Ceramic Scooter Transmission Components

When we first heard Polini was in the process of developing ceramic drive components we got pretty excited and now they’ve finally arrived. Complete rear pulleys and front half pulleys are available and they feature a rough ceramic coating which simply does not allow belt slip resulting in more drive out of corners and take off speed. Without belt slip it also means that temperatures are reduced allowing your transmission to work more efficiently pushing more drive to the rear wheel. Each component is also much lighter than previous products which improves engine response and further enhances 0 – 60 times.

New scooter parts from Polini Motori

Polini sponge air filter for Honda SH 125/150 Pure Air

Polini Motori have designed a new super efficient air filter for the Honda SH 125/150. Manufactured using flexible expanded polyurethane with a polyester base and gauze this air filter is made up of two sponge layers; a finer light blue layer with 60pp porosity and a main black layer with 30pp porosity. The fine layer filters the smallest particles which means it last longer as it doesn't come into contact with larger dust particles that haven't passed through the main pre-filtration layer. The external surface of the filter is waved which yields improved air flow retaining 50% more dust particles. The sponge also has a metal net to act as heat protection. This air filter fulfills European efficiency rules and for further efficiency in retaining dust particles the filter can be soaked in air filter oil.

New Polini Evo grips and brake lever covers with updated styling

Polini have updated the graphics on these grips with a new design in those familiar blue and white Evolution colours. Developed with ergonomics and riding safety in mind, the grips have been produced using selected elastomers and technopolymers of aerospace origin. The racing feel of these grips is further added to with a pair of anti-slip sponge brake lever covers. This combination offers improved grip and greater comfort when riding. The ribbed hand cover flange also prevents the hand from slipping as well as neutralising vibrations.

Polini Evolution engine case

New from Polini are these rather slick looking transmission covers to fit horizontal Minarelli engines (long version).

Trick looks are all well and good but it’s what’s underneath that counts and the most important feature here is the primary gear with variator driven pulley. Polini Motori have developed the engine case so that it’s possible to fit the supplementary gear that works on a pin to be screwed on the shaft itself. Thanks to this the pin is less flexible when usually it is completely overhanging.

A second useful feature is the inclusion of an air intake to improve variator cooling, this comes pre-fitted with a foam sponge to prevent unwanted dirt and air impurities from getting inside.

Polini claim that with the above additions it’s possible to eliminate variator vibration and exploit all the belt run on the variator. Great for tuned engines.

Four colour options are on offer:

Carbon: 128 Euros (£106) + VAT
Chromed: 119 Euros (£98) + VAT
Blue: 119 Euros (£98) + VAT
Black: 119 Euros (£98) + VAT

The above prices are approximate at the time of writing.

Polini Big Evolution exhaust

News just in from Adrenalin Milan HQ… We’d already heard about Polini’s 94cc developments and after a busy day trekking round EICMA today we’re able to announce news of their latest ‘evolutionary’ exhaust to complement their new 94cc kit evidence of which could be seen on the sprinter they had on display at the show.

Big Evolution kit update!

After saying our hellos with the guys and gals on the Polini stand we learned that the new Big Evolution setup is capable of a massive 33bhp that's three more than the Malossi rival. Speed capabilities weren't available even with reference to the sprinter, but everyone was smiling so we think there might be more surprises to come. Big Evolution products will be available from July 2010 we were told, it's a long time to wait but we think it will be worth it.

Peugeot Hybrid3 Evolution

Piaggio may have a contender on their hands with Peugeot’s electric three-wheeled concept ‘Hybrid3 Evolution’, “evolution” seemingly being the latest buzz word in the scooter scene. It’s a 300cc machine utilising what appears to be Peugeot’s existing supercharger. Zero emissions too. The model (and the machine) certainly seemed to get a lot of interest at the show.
