Pit bike: M2R KMX 140cc
Being the big kids we are, we like to play on everything powered by petrol. Out recent obsession has been pit bikes, whether it be in the Pedstop HQ car park or out in the woods, we surprised ourselves how fun little bikes can be for reasonable money. The first line up to arrive are from M2R (Made 2 Race). The quality and sturdiness of the bikes for the money really struck us by surprise, they’re well built and bloody quick as we found out when we went to test some this weekend. There will be plenty more pit bike fun to come but (over the next three blog posts) these are the three bikes that instantly appealed to us and are suitable for teenagers and adults.
M2R KMX 140cc – CRF 70 Frame – Big Wheeled Carbon Fibre Edition
The KMX 140 makes use of the CRF 70 frame that is larger than the traditional CRF 50 style frames often thought of when the term “pit bike” is used. It makes them much more rideable for larger teenagers or adults with more room when riding sat down. With a YX 140cc oil cooled race engine fitted as standard there’s ample power on tap with 13 HP at the rear wheel which is more than enough to upset most large adults. The overall spec of this bike is pretty good straight out of the box with USD triple clamp forks, piggy back rear shock, high rise bars and much more. Ideally suited for larger people or people who want a more stable bike over the rough stuff with the 17” front and 14” rear wheel taking every bump and jump in their stride. The full spec is as follows:
Engine: YX 140cc single cylinder 4 stroke engine (13 HP at rear wheel)
Top Speed: 60+ mph with off road gearing
Clutch: Manual lever clutch with N-1-2-3-4 gears
Start Type: Kick start / kick in gear
Brakes: Front and rear hydraulic brakes with braided hoses and ventilated discs
Front Suspension: USD hydraulic front forks with 7.5 inch travel
Rear Suspension: Single pivot design with piggy back shock featuring fully adjustable pre load and rebound settings. (Nitrogen charged)
Carburettor: Molkt 26mm
Frame: SDG twin beam chromoly cradle frame
Gross weight: 65kg
Fuel Capacity: 3.5 litres
Seat height: 86cm
Fuel: Unleaded
Tyres: Kenda MX
This is a serious not so little pit bike that’s built to soak up all the big hits found in MX riding. It comes complete with 30 day warranty that covers internal engine parts only when PDI’d by a professional motorcycle garage. It sounds great, looks great and goes even better!
Price: £799.00

EICMA 2011 video
EICMA 2011 - 69th International Motorcycle Exhibition
Check out our video from this year's EICMA motorcycle show which took place in Milan earlier this month. As usual there was loads to see at the show, we got the chance to have a quick chat with stunt rider Rok Bagoroš from Slovenia who spotted us in our Pedstop tees. Rok put on a good show on the new KTM 125 Duke street bike, watch him in action in our vid. 2011 seemed to be the year of the maxi scooter at EICMA with the world premiere of the new BMW C600 maxi scooters, the revamped Yamaha TMAX which looked pretty wicked and a new maxi scoot from Honda. If maxi scoots aren't your thing then there was still plenty to see at the 50cc end of the spectrum with the new Italjet Dragster which looked pretty cool, the usual eye candy from Polini, Wipe2's Stage6 Street Dragster prototype, we also met up with Olivier Murro, the designer behind this amazing scooter. So without further ado, sit back and watch our latest PED TV production:

PedMoto scooter performance parts: Air Filters
INTRODUCING PEDMOTO SCOOTER PERFORMANCE PARTS
PedMoto Air Filters: Along with many other PedMoto scooter performance parts that are currently in development PedMoto air filters have been designed and vigorously tested by us here at Adrenalin Pedstop. Currently there are two types available – panel filters and pod filters.
Panel filters: With their twin foam design and the specific porosities of foam that we’ve chosen, PedMoto panel filters allow for great air flow whilst improving filtration properties. With these being a direct swap for the original air filter they’re great for a small performance gain or a service. At present there are two different fitments in stock however the full range will be available to purchase within the next few weeks. The price is great too at ONLY £4.40.
Panel filter for Gilera Runner, Piaggio Zip etc.
Product code: PMPPF001
Panel filter for Yamaha Aerox, Jog R etc.
Product code: PMPPF002
Pod filters: We’re proud to present two different types of foam pod filter. First up is our exclusive race version that was developed during the 2011 BSSO race season. Made up of one single layer of foam this filter is very porous and allows the maximum possible air flow and performance. This compromises filtration however it’s ideal for anyone wanting the best possible power comparable to using no filter at all. Price £14.85.
Race type pod filter (58mm union)
Product code: AD/PMP-58R
We also do a road version of this filter that has a second layer of foam with a low porosity. The two layers enhance filtration properties making this filter ideal for everyday use in all weather conditions. Each filter comes in a wide range of union sizes and are priced at £14.85 each.
Road type twin foam pod filter
All PedMoto air filters are made in England.
