Schwalbe scooter tyres put to the test

In the coming weeks we'll be putting a selection of Schwalbe scooter tyres to the test. A track day at Rowrah up in Cumbria is on the cards which will give us the opportunity to put the tyres through the paces and get a feel for the performance of each tyre. As for the tyres themselves let's take a look at what's currently on offer:

Raceman: A semi-slick tyre offering "sporty durability". Available in sizes 10", 12", 13" and 14".

Paceman: Offers race performance and Schwalbe state that this tyre is extremely grippy when cornering. Available in sizes 10", 12" and 13".

Weatherman: As you might have guessed by the name this is an all weather tyre and designed to offer good grip in cold and wet conditions. Available in sizes 10", 12", 13" and 14".

Video - PED TV: Whilton Mill track day

Last Sunday Chris and Sam took the Zips out for a spot of racing to a track day at Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire. Conditions were rather wet, it being November and all, so some tyre swapping was involved to make riding a little less precarious particularly for Sam this being his first time out on the track. After Chris's off at Rowrah back in August he found himself in a similar scenario when the scoot went down, on video the action almost looks like a carbon copy of his crash in Cumbria. Sam appeared to be getting in the swing of it once his pre-race nerves calmed down although he did go off-piste at one point and onto the grass! A cold but enjoyable day's racing. Here's the video:

Pedstop Track Day at Rowrah

Last weekend the Pedstop crew headed out to Rowrah in Cumbria armed with the Zips where Chris and Josh were able to get some track time in. Whizz kid Josh made it all look effortless, in comparison Chris has had less experience on the track but still had a brilliant day, you can read his account of the weekend's racing exploits at PETROL.
